·         Today Uber chief Travis Kalanick revealed that the company has secured $1.2B in additional financing in order to “make substantial investments, particularly in the Asia Pacific region.” – the company is now valued at $40B
·         Allegedly, Ektron, a web content management firm based in Nashua, NH has been sold to an unnamed private equity firm for around $48MM plus taking on $50MM in debt
·         SoftBank has turned its attention to Southeast Asia and sunk $250MM into GrabTaxi, Uber’s arch enemy in the region
·         OnDeck Capital, an online site for lending to small businesses, said it planned to price its stock sale at $16 to $18 a share, a move that would value the company at about $1.1B
·         NextEra Energy said it would buy Hawaiian Electric Industries, Hawaii’s biggest power supplier, for about $2.63 billion in cash and stock
·         European pay TV giant Sky has agreed to sell a controlling stake in its betting unit Sky Bet for up to $1.13 billion in a deal that values the unit at $1.26 billion.
