·         Los Angeles-based automotive video publisher TEN: The Enthusiast Network, said Monday that it has acquired TORQUE.TV, and launched a new channel called Motor Trend OnDemand.
·         The FedEx Corporation said on Tuesday that it had agreed to acquire the Dutch delivery company TNT Express in a $4.8B deal that would greatly expand the American delivery giant’s presence in Europe
Business:
·         Samsung Electronics' Q1 operating profit slumped a preliminary 31% to 5.9T won ($5.4B), although the figure represents a slowdown in the company's earnings decline and topped analyst forecasts of 5.5T won
·         U.S. stocks rose on Tuesday, extending two sessions of gains for the S&P 500, with deals including a bid from FedEx for a Dutch peer indicating companies still see value in the market.

·         RealtyShares has taken the idea of crowdfunding and applied it to the real estate market - the company has raised $10MM in funding from Menlo Ventures to quickly grow the number of projects made available to investors
·         Los Angeles-based Fliptu is today launching its new social aggregation and brand enthusiasm platform today — and announcing $1.2MM in seed funding
·         San Diego-based ScoreStream said today that it has raised $2MM in a seed financing round, to bring scores, pictures, and other information about high school and local sports online
Government:
·         The Reserve Bank of Australia has unexpectedly kept its benchmark cash rate at a record-low 2.25%, although Governor Glenn Stevens signaled that the RBA could cut in the future, "in order to foster sustainable growth in demand and inflation consistent with the target."
